Founders

Wageningen UR (WUR) and the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) complement each other with regards to their working area. WUR has broad expertise regarding "upstream" biomass processing (cultivation of biomass, application of organic by-products, logistics as well as conversion to biomaterials and chemicals), whereas ECN focuses more on "downstream" processing (heat and power generation, gasification and gas conditioning, synthesis processes for particularly the production of green natural gas and transport fuels). Combing existing knowledge and technological infrastructure present at both WUR and ECN, as done within the Bio2Value framework, enables an efficient development & implementation of biorefinery technologies.
