Energy research Centre of the Netherlands
The Energy research Centre of the Netherlands, which is situated in the dunes near Petten, is the largest research centre in the Netherlands on the field of energy. The unit Biomass, Coal & Environmental Research performs R&D in the field of advanced uses of biomass and is a consultant for policy development, technical applications and developments. The R&D activities of the unit are programmatically subdivided into the clusters:
- Heat and Power Generation
- Gasification and Gas Conditioning
- Biofuels and Refinery Processes
- Air Quality and Climate Change
ECN is a major highly skilled knowledge centre for technology development for energy and products. The R&D department consists of experienced co-operators with a high reputation in research, development & implementation and accommodates a number of unique experimental facilities for execution of research and giving of advises on implementation.
